History of the Whidbey Island Chapter, NSDAR

On September 13, 1994, eighteen charter members gathered to officially form the
Whidbey Island Chapter, NSDAR.
The chapter was named for Joseph Whidbey, a sailing master onboard the HMS Discovery as part of the British Royal Navy'sVancouver Expedition (1791-1795), and namesake of our beautiful island.
